Since the field reopened, because he had some free time during the week Ian has been doing sterling work at the field with the clubs strimmer. If you have been at the field since it reopened, you can’t fail to have noticed that long grass around fences that can’t be reached with the mowers has been cut down and also of real benefit, the rough vegetation on the banks, particularly on the runway approaches, has been trimmed right back. This has obvious benefit apart from making the field look good. I can assure you that wielding the strimmer for extended periods is hard work.
Thank you Ian.

Ian starts a new job shortly and will not have as much time to help at the field, so if anyone can spare some regular time to do a few bits and pieces it would be much appreciated. Very few members contribute anything toward field maintenance. The club should not be treated as a financial concern like a golf club where you have everything done for you. If we paid people to carry out all the field maintenance the membership fees would need to increase significantly. We need help with regular maintenance. If a couple of people could do an hour or so a week it would make a huge difference.
