Unofficial Glider/Bootsale report.

Huge thanks to everyone who attended the bootsale and glider event this weekend. We were (finally!) blessed by the weather Gods for a sun-drenched weekend with not too much wind.

Friday night saw the very impressive northern lights at the field. The entire sky was filled to the North and East with faint colours that the camera could see a lot more vividly than the unaided eye.

Saturday saw a very good turnout for the bootsale. Lots of genuine bargains to be had, including a very nice carbon DLG with servos for £20! Stewart Keeble put on not one but two BBQs over the weekend for hungry visitors with tea, coffee and chocolate HobNobs all round. Stewart has also given up a lot of time on the field with Simon Stanley recently, so a word of thanks is well overdue if and when you see him.

Sunday saw a good turnout both from visitors and members for the glider day. Lots of different gliders from good old foamies to some real hot ships. An impromptu climb and glide was arranged for three classes of glider. The winners (bottle of wine each) were:

F5J Class: Steve Brett

Hybrid Class: Charlie Johnson

Foamies: Dave Wray

We also had a very nice Phoenix V2 glider donated by RapidRC (thanks as always to Rapid for the support), for which a raffle was undertaken. Stewart Keeble was the very happy winner for this. All proceeds to the kitty.
