Works Party – Saturday 2nd May 2026
We are arranging a works party for the above date. The sheeting on the shelter is looking tatty, and there are a few other jobs to do. As always, we are hoping for a good turnout to make light work. Please, if you can lend a hand, arrive at 10:30. These things rarely take more than a couple of hours and save the club a great deal of money by not having to employ contractors on a commercial basis. The above date is two weeks before our first open events on May 16th (Boot sale) & 17th (Scale Day), all are welcome to both, so please tell your friends and family.
BMFA/CAA membership again!
As you may or may not know, the committee is currently spending increasing amounts of time on admin, identifying members who have gaps between their Bickley, BMFA and CAA memberships/registrations. This is an overhead that it could do without.
Regardless of your views regarding the BMFA or the CAA, the committee will be taking a very dim view of anyone found to be flying at the club without the requisite paperwork in place because as you are aware, you are not flying legally. Registration information is available online and random checks may take place at the field. The committee do appreciate that there are several members who, for various reasons, may not be able to fly for extended lengths of time, or at all, and hence their registration paperwork may have lapsed. This reminder is not aimed at those specific cases, but those regular flyers who, with the 2026 season upon us, will be back in the air soon. We hope you appreciate and understand the importance of this requirement and look forward to the club having 100% (where applicable) compliance in the very near future.
Many thanks
