As you will have seen in the email circulated on 28/3/2020 the committee have come to the decision that with immediate effect the Bickley MFC flying site is closed. This is in response to the Governments new restrictions and the recommendations of the BMFA. The BMFA’s reasoning can be seen on their website bmfa.org . There was a suggestion that a different lock be fitted to the inner gate to prevent entry, but we are all adults and should be able to act responsibly by not ignoring the closure. If we become aware that members are ignoring the closure a different lock will be fitted. Obviously, we will open again as soon as possible.
The upside is you can be doing some building. If you have an interesting project on the go please let us know, with photos if possible, and we can keep everyone informed as to how members are handling this forced lay off.
Your committee wish you all the best, stay safe and we will arrange some sort of major get together when things are back to normal.
Alan Cooper has suggested that we may have a solution to the grass cutting, but I’m not sure…….
